  1. PC & Hardware is for everything related to playing, building, maintaining, and understanding games on computers. Discuss modern hardware as well as the older machines that helped define PC gaming. Example topics: Is this GPU upgrade worth it for 1440p gaming? Show us your gaming or workstation setup Best monitor size for PC gaming Building a period-correct Windows XP gaming PC Mechanical keyboards for gaming Troubleshooting stuttering in PC games Which old graphics card do you remember most? CRT vs modern displays for retro PC gaming CPUs, GPUs, displays, peripherals, storage, operating systems, upgrades, builds, troubleshooting, and classic PC hardware all belong here. If it is inside, attached to, or powering your gaming PC, this is probably the place.
  2. Games can disappear. Servers shut down. Digital stores close. Official patches vanish. Prototypes are lost. Old websites disappear. Physical media deteriorates. Entire versions of games can become difficult or impossible to access. This forum is dedicated to documenting, understanding, and legally preserving gaming history. Example topics: Which delisted games deserve better preservation? What happens to online-only games after their servers shut down? The importance of preserving old official patches Interesting prototypes and unreleased builds Lost demos that were once publicly available Are fan servers a form of preservation? How should physical game media be archived? Why do some older PC games disappear completely? Members may share information about official downloads, historical material, documentation, checksums, archived webpages, legal freeware releases, community preservation projects, and other legitimate resources. NoAutosave is not a warez, ROM, crack, or piracy community. We preserve gaming history legally and responsibly.
  3. Legacy Games is where we revisit the games, platforms, developers, and eras that helped shape gaming history. This forum is not simply about nostalgia. It is about understanding older games in their original context and discussing the influence they left behind. Example topics: Why Mafia (2002) still matters today What made the original Deus Ex so influential? The PC gaming experience of the late 1990s Which PS2 games have aged surprisingly well? How Half-Life changed first-person games What did early survival horror do differently? The key distinction is simple: Games That Stay With You asks: What did this game mean to you? Legacy Games asks: What did this game mean to gaming?
  4. Design & Decisions is where we look beneath the surface of games. This forum is for discussing the choices developers make and how those choices affect the player: difficulty, exploration, saving systems, quest markers, fast travel, dialogue, level design, immersion, player freedom, tutorials, checkpoints, consequences, and more. The main question here is often: Why was the game designed this way — and does it make the experience better? Example topics: Do quest markers make exploration less rewarding? Save anywhere or fixed checkpoints — which is better? Should games explain every mechanic to the player? Does fast travel make game worlds feel smaller? When do dialogue choices actually matter? Should difficulty be part of the intended experience? Does a minimap hurt immersion? General Gaming discusses the game. Design & Decisions discusses the decisions behind the game. This forum is one of the places where the NoAutosave philosophy lives.
  5. Some games end when the credits roll. Others stay with us for years. This forum is for games, characters, worlds, scenes, soundtracks, and personal gaming experiences that left a lasting impression on you. The game does not need to be old or historically important. What matters here is the effect it had on you personally. Example topics: The game I wish I could experience for the first time again Which ending stayed with you the longest? A game world you still think about years later The first game that genuinely made you emotional What game reminds you of a specific time in your life? A game from 1998 can belong here. A game released last week can belong here too. This forum is about memory, emotion, and personal connection.
  6. This forum is about the games you are playing right now. Share your current playthroughs, first impressions, progress, discoveries, frustrations, screenshots, recommendations, and small stories from the games currently taking up your time. You do not need to write a full review. A simple update about your current experience is enough. Example topics: What are you playing this weekend? I finally started Kingdom Come: Deliverance 20 hours into Baldur’s Gate 3 — my first impressions Replaying Half-Life after all these years I picked up an old PS2 game and can’t put it down This is the most casual and immediate gaming space on NoAutosave. Play something. Come back. Tell us about it.
  7. General Gaming is the main place for broad conversations about video games and the wider gaming world. Use this forum for discussions about new and upcoming games, industry news, announcements, recommendations, trends, publishers, developers, and topics that do not fit one of our more focused forums. Example topics: Which upcoming game are you most excited for? What did you think of the latest showcase? Which studios are making the most interesting games right now? What game would you recommend to someone looking for a great RPG? Are game prices becoming too high? If your topic is specifically about what you are currently playing, use What Are You Playing?. If you want to discuss why a game is designed a certain way, use Design & Decisions. Think of General Gaming as the main conversation floor of NoAutosave.
